BRIAN REDMAN JOINS HMSA TEAM
December 10, 2004, Montrose CA. The Historic Motor
Sports Association (HMSA) today announced that
racing champion Brian Redman has joined HMSA as the Director of Competition.
In addition, HMSA will
become the sanctioning body for Mr. Redman’s Targa 66 club and
Intercontinental Events, Inc. races including
the Jefferson 500 at Summit Point Raceway May 20 -22 . Redman brings
a world of knowledge and th nd
decades of experience in racing that the participants of HMSA events
can now enjoy.
Over the last few years events such as the Porsche
Rennsport Reunion and the Jefferson 500 staged by Mr.
Redman’s company Intercontinental Events, Inc. and the Targa 66
club, have grown to become some of the
most anticipated and respected events on the historic racing calendar.
As a result of this exceptional growth,
Redman began looking for a group that not only had the experience to
help facilitate his events but also more
importantly shared his philosophy of historic racing. Redman found that
HMSA’s emphasis on preserving the
history of the sport as opposed to encouraging on-track competition
and their experience in sanctioning worldclass
events such as the Monterey Historic made them the perfect candidate.
The Targa 66 club events and the
other races organized by Intercontinental Events, Inc. will continue
with
the ideology that Mr. Redman has established. Redman’s passion
for the sport and the strength of HMSA
insures that their combined vision for historic motorsport will continue
to grow and prosper.
