HMSA has the Top Talent
Llew Kinst, Director of Brand
Management
Born 1952 – Oakland, CA
Resides in Cupertino, California
Background in how it all began
Llew has over 30 years of design and marketing experience in the high
tech and motorsports industries. An innovative designer who produces
solutions that are proven to work. He is the President and founder of
his own successful design and marketing firm Autograph Designed located
in Silicon Valley.
From a very young age Llew showed exceptional gifts in the arts and
a strong natural aptitude for things mechanical. Throughout his developing
yeas he was pulled between these two worlds. At any given time he could
be found working in the darkroom on his fine art photography or in the
garage restoring an old sports car. By they time he graduated from college
he had settled on design as his vocation and motorsports as his hobby.
By joining the HMSA family, he now can pursue both interests at the
same time.
His first racing experience was attending
the 1960 Laguna Seca races with his father in the family Austin Healy
100. A few years later a second Healy became Llew’s first car.
But he had to do the factory one better by installing a Chevy V8 to
make his own version of the then popular Cobra. Llew moved on to a variety
of Porsches ranging from 356, 911, 912, and a very rare factory 914-6
GT,His racing experienced continued behind the wheel with Porsche Club
time trials and eventually historic racing with HMSA. As a participant
in HMSA events, Llew felt he could help the group with web and marketing
projects. In 2002 Llew stuck his head into Cris’ motor home at
an HMSA event, and offered his assistance in producing a new web site
for the group. In the blink of an eye, Cris took him up on the offer.
In addition to his strong interest
in automobiles, Llew also has a love for motorcycles and road racing
motorcycles in particular. In 2003 he founded Vmoto a vintage motorcycle
racing association very similar to HMSA. In joining the HMSA family
Llew has brought Vmoto along with him, and it is now a part of the broad
spectrum of racers that HMSA presents at it’s events.
